Case study

Gravitational waves are waves in the space-time fabric. When significant cosmic events like supernova explosions or interactions between blackholes occur, the generated gravitational waves are detectable here on Earth.
In this study, we show non-invasive morphological surface analysis techniques matching well-assessed biochemical methods to clearly distinguish physiological from pathological cells.
Laser technology is perfectly suited for manufacturing micro-cavities in molds, microfluidic channels, or even micro-milling. Thanks to the S wide, we can offer excellent quality control adding, with SensoVIEW, all the details about the geometry summarized in a report.
In this study with an automotive company, we have proof how laser texturing enhances the functional performance of cylinder liner segments. Adding up the analysis software capabilities, we have assessed the frictional performance of the laser-textured surface.
We concluded that one of the parameters that changed the most was Sdr (developed area ratio). Sdr parameter is important in applications related to addition and coatings, so the printing angle will be critical for additive manufactured surfaces whose functional performance is related to adhesion and coatings (like hydrophobic surfaces for example).
Our research focuses on improving tribomechanical properties of Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coatings, deposited by the novel PVD technique High Power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS) with positive pulses on tool steels.
