Precision Manufacturing

This study successfully achieved a comprehensive quantitative and qualitative characterization of solid particle erosion (SPE) in bulk alumina, neat epoxy resin, and alumina-reinforced polymer composites under different impact angles and velocities.
Laser technology is perfectly suited for manufacturing micro-cavities in molds, microfluidic channels, or even micro-milling. Thanks to the S wide, we can offer excellent quality control adding, with SensoVIEW, all the details about the geometry summarized in a report.
We concluded that one of the parameters that changed the most was Sdr (developed area ratio). Sdr parameter is important in applications related to addition and coatings, so the printing angle will be critical for additive manufactured surfaces whose functional performance is related to adhesion and coatings (like hydrophobic surfaces for example).
In this study, a non-contact 3D surface metrology confocal microscopy is used for the measurement of ceramic layers to measure heights, and volumes of single-layer ceramic paths, and heights of two-layer printed ceramic parts.
Femtosecond laser is an ultra-short pulse duration laser. Until 2016, it was not possible to integrate a femtosecond laser onto a 5 axis machine. The Swiss group Georg Fischer first achieved this in 2016 thus becoming world pioneers in this technology. This development ushered in a new range of possibilities for manufacturing processes.
